The AD that is linked above uses pathos, ethos, and logos to
persuade the audience that drinking milk a healthy and smart option. The
audience of this advertisement is young children and teenagers who are fans of
Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift is a role model for tweens and if she is seen
drinking milk, the advertiser hopes that the tweens will want to drink milk and
be like Taylor.
This AD uses pathos because Taylor Swift is such a role model
for teens that having her drink milk will influence how her fans will perceive drinking
milk and hopefully change their negative opinion of milk.
Logos is used in this AD because it states results from
studies. This AD wants to persuade teenagers that drinking milk over sugary
drinks can benefit total body health like learning and muscle mass.
Lastly, this AD uses ethos because it uses Taylor Swift to endorse
the Got Milk? campaign. Taylor’s fans will be more willing to drink milk
because they can now associate drinking milk with Taylor. They might think, “If
Taylor does it, I should too.”
The Got Milk? campaign uses multiple celebrities,
athletes, and public figures that teens recognize to hopefully persuade them to
choose milk over sugary
